Welcome to Electric Road’s ‘Top 5 Home Charging Units’ Summer 2022.
At Electric Road, our key objective is to be as useful as we possibly can be for those considering their first/next electric car and related products & services. Domestic charging units are obviously important for those who can charge at home and researching for the right one can be confusing given the increasing number available on the market.
Owner Ratings
Based on the 5-bolt rating system from over 1,800 Owner Reviews received up to and including 30th June, Electric Road (ER) has extracted the top 5 highest-rated home charging units. Within the review forms, all owners have to provide a bolt rating out of 5 on their current charger. We’ve then worked out the average rating for each manufacturer.
We hope this summary of EV owners’ opinions will help you make the right decision when the time comes to purchase your first or next charging unit. Given how quickly the wider electric vehicle market is growing, the Top 5 Home Charging Units will be updated each quarter ensuring you have the latest trends from the ER audience.

5. Ohme
About Ohme
From day one, we’ve always put the customer at the heart of everything we do. We’ve built a product that not only makes EVs cheaper to run, but allows our customers, business partners and energy suppliers to work together to support the global transition to renewables. We’re passionate about green energy but found that the “feast or famine” nature of sources like wind and solar power was a big issue. That’s why we created Ohme, a smart charging system that nudges customers to charge at off-peak times, using the surplus energy that can’t otherwise be stored on the grid, with the added benefit of saving some money.
(as published on their website, July 2022)
