Why did you choose this car?
It was reasonably priced and suited my needs.

Positives – List 3 or more reasons why you love this car.

  • Very economical to run
  • Good performance
  • Compact and easy to park.

Negatives – List 3 or more things that you really don’t like about this car.

  • I wish I’d gone for the CCS version
  • Renault’s ancillary software is complete rubbish
  • Renault’s customer support is pretty rubbish too.

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?
The software was out of date when delivered and I have yet to succeed in getting it updated. Several advertised software features simply don’t work (like OTA map updates).

What are the standout tech features of the car?
In the context of electric cars, I’m not sure it has any. It goes. It charges. It’s a car.

Surprise us! Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about this car.
As with many electric cars, changing a wheel at the side of the road is not an option. If you get a puncture you have to get the recovery lorry out.

Rate your EV out of 5.

What car are you interested in next and why?
It will be a while before I next look for a car. It will almost certainly be another EV and I expect that by then the technology will have moved on quite a bit.

What home charging unit do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?
myenergi zappi 2 – it was the best available when I bought it and it integrates well with my PV.

What home electricity supplier & tariff do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?
Octopus Go – yes, although their customer service is not all it’s cracked up to be. They’re very chummy but it’s scripted chumminess and it’s just as difficult to get sense out of them as out of most other energy companies.

What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?
I’ve not used many. Osprey seemed good. GeniePoint customer services are a bit clueless.

List your top 3 favourite public charging networks (in order of preference).

  1. Osprey.

Who do you insure your EV with? Would you recommend them to others and why?
Direct Line – they’re OKish but not great.

Rate your insurance provider out of 5.

Estimate how much money you save per month owning and running an EV compared to a petrol/diesel car.
£65.
