Top 5 Electricity Suppliers – Summer 2022

Top 5 Electricity Suppliers - Summer 2022

Welcome to Electric Road’s ‘Top 5 Electricity Suppliers’ Summer 2022.

At Electric Road, our key objective is to be as useful as we possibly can be for those considering their first/next electric car and related products & services. Electricity suppliers are naturally very important to many electric car owners and while price is the key consideration, renewable energy is a significant factor for a lot of owners.

Owner Ratings

Based on the 5-bolt rating system from over 1,800 Owner Reviews received up to and including 30th June, Electric Road (ER) has extracted the top 5 highest-rated electricity suppliers. Within the review forms, all owners have to provide a bolt rating out of 5 on their current supplier & tariff. We’ve then worked out the average rating for each supplier.

We hope this summary of EV owners’ opinions will help you make the right decision when the time comes to consider a new electricity supplier. The Top 5 Electricity Suppliers will be updated each quarter ensuring you have the latest trends from the ER audience.

3. EDF

About EDF

GoElectric EV tariffs for your car and home:

  • Get cheaper charging overnight at just 4.5p per kWh

  • Charge up for less than £5 while you sleep (1)

  • 100% zero carbon renewable electricity (2)

Notes

  1. EV charging based on using a 7kW home charger and EDF’s GoElectric35 tariff at 4.5p/kWh off-peak.
  2. EDF’s EV tariffs are backed with 100% zero carbon renewable electricity. Electricity for EDF’s GoElectric tariff comes from renewable sources like wind, solar, biomass, tidal and hydroelectric. At the end of each fuel mix reporting year, EDF will make sure they’ve purchased enough renewable electricity from EDF owned renewable generation to match the total volume of electricity supplied to all their customers on the GoElectric tariff. A fuel mix reporting year begins on 1 April and ends on 31 March the following year. UK Fuel Mix disclosure information published by the Government (BEIS), recognises electricity from wind, solar and nuclear fuel produces zero carbon dioxide emissions at the point of generation. See EDF’s tariff table for more information.
