Why did you choose the Jaguar I-PACE?

In 2019 there were not so many EV models available. I wanted a luxury electric SUV with a decent range. I tried a Tesla Model S but thought it was poor quality as a car and the Jaguar I-PACE was the main alternative at the time.

Positives – List 3 or more reasons why you love this electric car.

  • Luxury quality
  • Performance
  • SUV body.

Negatives – List 3 or more things that you really don’t like about this electric car.

  • Public charging infrastructure
  • The I-PACE infotainment system is a bit unreliable
  • Can’t think of a third one!

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

Just one, after a few months from new I started to get a gearbox fault. JLR took the car back for a month and gave me a free loan car. The problem was sorted and I have had no issues in the last three years. It’s a very reliable vehicle.

What are the standout tech features of your Jaguar I-PACE?

  • The performance is stunning
  • Climate control remotely from the app whilst still attached to the charger
  • Timed charging to take advantage of cheap electricity from Octopus.

Surprise us! Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about this Jaguar I-PACE.

It has a larger cabin compared to its external size due to its long wheelbase, so the external size is E-PACE and the internal size is F-PACE.

What electric car are you interested in next and why?

Jaguar I-PACE again possibly or a Mercedes-Benz EQC.

What home charging unit do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?

Polar – just a basic charger. Completely reliable. If I were to choose again I would get one that is linked to wi-fi and has an App.
