Audi Q4 e-tron 2022 electric car owner review

Lee Deamer drives an Audi Q4 e-tron S Line 2022.

This is Lee’s first electric car, he’s owned the Audi Q4 e-tron from new and drives 5,000-10,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 1,000-5,000 miles and he achieves 280 miles from a full charge.

Why did you choose the Audi Q4 e-tron?

I’ve driven Audis for the last 20 years. After some serious thought on other brands I was swayed back by the more traditional interior of the Audi.

Positives

  • Looks
  • interior space
  • how serenely it gets down the road.

Negatives

  • Brakes take a bit of getting used to
  • cheap floor mats
  • not impressed with the Sonos sound system
  • the usual stupid Audi key problem when you have it in your pocket and come out and find the tailgate open😡

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

App is useless and a couple of faults on the heating controls but I have not been back to the dealer yet to have it rectified.

What are the standout technological features of the car?

  • The touchscreen seems to work perfectly once you find your way around the menus
  • headlamps are great
  • being able to pre-heat or cool the car from the app is useful.

Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about this electric car

Once you work out how to connect it, being able to use Alexa is great and there seems to be a useful little storage space for most things.

What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?

A6 Avant if the pre launch images are anything like the real car.

Home charging unit

Pod Point Solo 3 – we don’t use the app, just plug in when necessary and it works perfectly.

Electricity supplier & tariff

Octopus Energy is our supplier and the cheap night-time tariff would be pointless for us as the daytime cost would escalate and wipe out any benefit.

Insurer

General Accident – they have a good reputation and were highly competitive.

Please itemise where you’re saving money (or not) owning & running an Audi Q4 e-tron

Even with energy costs as they are, we are saving approximately £125 per month on running costs. The electricity is costing between £75 and £100 per month and we do between 9,000 to 10,000 miles per year.
