Public charging review - Stephen Z Nissan Leaf

Stephen Z runs a Nissan LEAF electric car, comments on public charging.

What do you think of the UK public charging network in general?

As I don’t have a home charger I rely on public chargers. Thankfully, I have a Tesco half a mile away where I can charge for free, a mile down the road is a Lidl with a Pod Point Rapid charger which is quite inexpensive at 26p/kWh and a little closer there is an Instavolt Rapid charger, my last resort as it’s the most expensive. Have used them all and never had any problems.

What and where are your favourite UK public chargers?

What’s been your worst experience with a UK public charger in your Nissan LEAF?

Not had a bad experience.

What’s got to change about public charging in the UK to get more people driving electric cars?

Better infrastructure particularly at tourism centres; the east coast resorts are particularly poorly catered for.
