Surprise us! Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about this car.
With correct set up, (leafstar skill) I can just say, “Alexa ask my LEAF to warm up” to pre-heat the car on cold days. The Tekna has bird’s eye view by combining the 4 parking cams, making it so easy. As a passenger, you can sit in air-con luxury while waiting for the driver, by pushing down on the with your hand and pressing start button 😉

Rate your EV out of 5.

What car are you interested in next and why?
I don’t see a need for changing but if pushed, an Ora Cat or a Citroen ë-C4. Tried the latter at Fully Charged Live, by far the best ride of anything remotely affordable (it would have to be second hand).

What home charging unit do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?
Just a granny in the garage and a slightly faster 16 amp cheap EVSE, (there’s no point in an actual charger when our LEAF’s onboard AC to DC is only 3.3kw). I’ve 3D printed a couple of holders for them.

What home electricity supplier & tariff do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?
As we’re in a park home with electricity provided by the owner of the park, we don’t have a choice of suppliers but it’s as competitive as it can be (currently about 13p a unit). However, no options for Economy 7 or similar.

What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?
The brilliant Instavolt! Like Tesla but for normal people 😀  As opposed to the local bp pulse 🙁 it is the most unreliable pile of cr*p I’ve ever had the misfortune to attempt to use 🙁

List your top 3 favourite public charging networks (in order of preference).

  • Instavolt, Instavolt, and Instavolt!

Who do you insure your EV with? Would you recommend them to others and why?
NFU – would certainly recommend them. Partner had an own fault, low speed reversing accident with another vehicle. They were so quick and good to sort it. They also have RAC roadside assist built in.
