Compared to when you first bought the car, does your battery still charge at the same rate & do you still get the same range?

Same rate, 11% less indicated range.

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

Trivial issues with door handles and boot cinch motor.

EV batteries only last a couple of years.

Home charging unit – outline both positive & negative elements

myenergi zappi charger allows me to charge off my solar PV for free. No negatives.

Electricity supplier & tariff – outline both positive & negative elements

Domestic electricity from EDF is far too expensive given the wholesale prices. Our electricity seems to be cross subsidising the French network. Having said that EDF actually pay me for the privilege of supplying my gas and electric thanks to my FIT (Feed-in Tariff).

What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?

Tesla are the only reliable fast chargers that are not price gouging the driver.

Insurer – outline both positive & negative elements

esure – only get insurance to keep plod happy, as have not made a claim since 1975.

Please itemise where you’re saving money (or not) owning & running a Tesla Model 3

  • Free fuel about £2,000 per year
  • cheaper servicing £1,000 per year
  • road tax. £2,600 per year
