Jaguar I-PACE HSE 2020

Jaguar I-PACE HSE 2020

Gregor Ritchie drives a Jaguar I-PACE HSE 90kWh 2022 .

This is Gregor’s first electric car, he’s owned the I-PACE 1-2 years and drives between 5,000-10,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 40,000-50,000 miles and he achieves 180 miles from a full charge. Gregor’s I-PACE has a panoramic roof.

Why did you choose the Jaguar I-PACE?

  • I wanted an SUV
  • I like the Jaguar and I’ve had Jaguars before
  • I like the trim level
  • I love the cream leather seats
  • The performance is amazing!

Positives

  • It is such a joy to drive
  • Very comfortable
  • You don’t need to warm up the engine
  • It’s very quiet (low road noise)
  • Super cheap to run with a home charger.

Negatives

None!

Compared to when you first bought the car, does your battery still charge at the same rate & do you still get the same range?

There has been some degradation in capacity , but not outside expectations.

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

Boot struts failed (common fault for this age of car) but I fixed them myself with no issues. Also, the charge flap release can stick, which I have removed.

What are the standout technological features of the car?

Infotainment is fine now I have a CarPlay dongle ( my car is pre PriVo). Acceleration is phenomenal 😎

Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about your Jaguar I-PACE

Makes me smile every day!

What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?

I’ll be downsizing so either the CUPRA Born or Renault 5 E-Tech. Would have another Jag if they had a smaller version.

Home charging unit

myenergi zappi – it works, no issues.

What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?

Thankfully, I don’t have to very often but the best/most reliable seem to be InstaVolt. GRIDSERVE will throw up the warning after charging but I press ‘OK’ and it goes away.

Insurer

Direct Line – standard policy, no issues.

Please itemise where you’re saving money (or not) owning & running a Jaguar I-PACE

Oh yes! Servicing is cheap and refuelling is super cheap (from home). No downside (yet).
