Mak drives a Renault 5 E-Tech Urban Range 52kWh 2026.
This is Mak’s first EV and he’s owned the Renault 5 less than a year. He drives under 5,000 miles annually and the current mileage of the car is between 1,000-5,000 miles. He achieves 230 miles range from an 80% charge.
Why did you choose the Renault 5 E-Tech?
I loved it at first sight!
Positives
Not enough room here to do it full justice. Best to say it makes me feel so happy when I get in it and the driving experience is superb.
Negatives
Nothing!
Compared to when you first bought the car, does your battery still charge at the same rate & do you still get the same range?
Same at the moment.
Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?
None, except the Google assistant reception is not that great in some places and I have turned off the reno app, as it’s really annoying!
What are the standout technological features of the car?
- The adaptive cruise control
- lane assist
- hands-free parking.
What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?
The Alpine A290.
What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?
Sainsbury’s – no fuss with an app and fast charging is relatively cheap. I only use this one.
Please itemise where you’re saving money (or not) owning & running a Renault 5 E-Tech
I usually charge at home once a week, the average cost is approx. £10. My last car, which was a mild hybrid was about £30 a week.
