Vauxhall Mokka Electric 2023 owner review

Vauxhall Mokka Electric 2023 owner review

James Love drives a Vauxhall Mokka Electric 54kWh 2023.

This is James’s first electric car, he’s owned the Mokka Electric from new and drives 5,000-10,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 5,000-10,000 miles and he achieves 120 miles from a full charge.

Why did you choose the Vauxhall Mokka Electric?

Salesman pressure and assurances.

Positives – List 3 or more reasons why you love this electric car

  • I don’t

Negatives – List 3 or more things that you really don’t like about this electric car

  • Range is nothing like I was promised
  • charging time and cost is more expensive than petrol equivalent
  • absolutely useless if you do long journeys.

Compared to when you first bought the car, does your battery still charge at the same rate & do you still get the same range?

Battery is already showing signs of deterioration after only 6 months and range is also poorer.

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

None

What are the standout technological features of the car?

Sat nav & adaptive cruise control.

Surprise us! Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about this electric car

Range isn’t even half of what I was promised and on motorways I can only get about 100 miles before needing a recharge.

What’s the biggest or funniest myth you’ve heard about EVs?

Everything I’ve experienced except it actually bursting into flames has been true.

What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?

Absolutely none of them, never again, can’t wait to get rid of this one.

Home charging unit – outline both positive & negative elements

As I have a driveway it is convenient when at home and cheaper than fast chargers.

Electricity supplier & tariff – outline both positive & negative elements

There is no positive especially with current prices, can’t see it ever improving

What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?

None, I usually have a good wait to get onto one and my last charge cost £36.

Please itemise where you’re saving money (or not) owning & running a Vauxhall Mokka Electric

I’m not, so far it’s been far more expensive to run than my previous Ford Kuga diesel.
