Provide your overall rating for the charging unit

Which company installed it and would you recommend them?

CNG Electrical, great job.

How much did you pay for your unit and installation?

£1,100

Why did you purchase the myenergi zappi 2.0?

Having looked at the other models and as I was planning on having solar installed, the zappi looked to be the best bet.

List 3 or more points that you like about the charging unit

  • Simple user interface
  • looks good
  • the mobile app works well.

List 3 or more points that you don’t like about the charging unit

  • Nothing

Outline any faults you have experienced with the unit

Couple of times the RCD has tripped. Once I had to have the RCD board replaced.

Tell us about your home charging routine

I plug in 2-3 times a week to 80% with Octopus’s off-peak rate. Once every couple of months I do a long trip so I’ll boost up to 100%. I usually have the charger in ECO+ mode so if there’s any excess solar I make use of it.

If you were buying a new charging unit now, what would you buy and why?

Same again!

Tell us about your electricity provider and tariff. Would you recommend them?

Octopus Energy: Intelligent Octopus Go – it’s linked to my wife’s CUPRA which is on a 13amp charger. My Mustang was a bit hit and miss with my account being frozen, this works out well for us as the CUPRA charges slower so Octopus give us bigger charging windows. I would highly recommend Octopus, they’ve been great for me.

Are you part of a charger-sharing scheme for those who don’t have their own charger?

No I’m not. Where I live there would be no point, there are 10 high speed chargers within 3 miles of my house and you can’t walk anywhere from where I live.
