Why did you choose this car?
I was looking for a PHEV or an EV with self-driving capability that was made in Britain.

  • It is quiet
  • It is smooth
  • It does not smell
  • It can drive itself on main roads
  • It is cheap to run
  • It has a great roof rack for my canoes
  • There is plenty of space for camping kit.

Negatives – List 3 or more things that you really don’t like about this car.

  • The brake and accelerator are both too far to the left
  • The roof is black and therefore makes the car hot in summer
  • The battery has no active cooling or heating
    The battery will overheat if charged from less than 20% more than 3 times on a trip.

 

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

  • The folding wing mirrors got stiff and would not always unfold
  • The selective unlock seems to turn itself on from time to time.

 

What are the standout tech features of the car?

  • The car will drive itself most of the time on main roads
  • There is a speed limiter
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Automatic wipers
  • Automatic headlights.

I would like one with a longer range for the few longer trips I make and with active battery cooling.

I just use a normal 13 amp socket. This is fine for most of my motoring as I can get enough charge at cheap rate.

Octopus, I am on their Go tariff.

Instavolt because their chargers all have both connector types. Gridserve because although inadequate they are available in most motorway services.

Direct Line – they seem easy to deal with.
