Michele drives a Peugeot e-2008 GT 46.3kWh, standard specification.
This is Michele’s first EV and she’s owned the e-2008 less than a year. She drives 5,000-10,000 miles annually and the current mileage of the car is between 5,000-10,000 miles. She achieves 120 miles range from an 80% charge.
Why did you choose the Peugeot e-2008?
It was a good price, low mileage and at my local dealer.
Positives
The comfort, ease of driving and the style.
Negatives
- Can’t see the cruise control stalk as it’s positioned badly
- The boot is manual and there’s no handle to pull it down with – this makes it awkward and too heavy, especially when it’s wet.
Compared to when you first bought the car, does your battery still charge at the same rate & do you still get the same range?
Yes, it’s still the same although I’ve only done about 3,000 miles.
Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?
None
What are the standout technological features of the car?
The info system is great as are the safety features, especially the lane assist and automatic emergency braking.
Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about your Peugeot e-2008
The doors lock and unlock without having to press the key.
What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?
Kia EV6 – the shape.
Electricity supplier & tariff
My car is difficult to get connected to most suppliers’ tariffs, Peugeots don’t seem popular enough. This is really annoying and should be brought up nationally. Therefore, I’ve resorted to plugging in an outside socket! OVO wanted nearly £2,000.
Insurance
Churchill – easy and reasonable.
Please itemise where you’re saving money (or not) owning & running a Peugeot e-2008 GT
It has been a lot cheaper to charge my car (even on a standard tariff) as it only needs charging once a fortnight because I only do short journeys. My previous car was a diesel so that was more expensive. However, the road tax was £30 cheaper on that…weird!
