Peugeot e-208 2022 electric car owner review

Peugeot e-208 2022 electric car owner review

JSB drives a Peugeot e-208 GT 50kWh 2022.

This is JSB’s first electric car, he’s owned the Peugeot e-208 less than 1 year and drives 15,000-20,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 20,000-30,000 miles and he achieves 180 miles from a full charge.

Why did you choose the Peugeot e-208?

I wanted a small electric car that just looked like a car. I had a 2019 Citroen DS3 (original shape) and love wafty French cars and so the e-208 was the logical choice. It looks good (GT version) and I was blown away on the test drive with the way it feels when driving. The extra weight from the battery gives the car a much more premium ride feel.

Positives

  • Design
  • interior feels premium
  • ride feels premium
  • it has lots of physical buttons.

Negatives

  • Tight for rear passengers…that’s it!

Peugeot e-208 2022 electric car owner review

Compared to when you first bought the car, does your battery still charge at the same rate & do you still get the same range?

Still the same after I’ve done 12,000 miles in 6 months.

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

Drop links needed to be replaced.

What are the standout technological features of the car?

Fast charging, i-Cockpit and the sound system is very good.

Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about the Peugeot e-208

The i-Cockpit surprises people as does the small steering wheel. I love both of those things. Auto full beam works really well too.

What’s the biggest or funniest myth you’ve heard about EVs?

That the batteries will die after a few years.

What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?

Renault 5 – just look at it!

Home charging unit

Ohme Home Pro – no negatives so far.

Electricity supplier & tariff

Intelligent Octopus Go – cheap rates in the house overnight means you can run the dishwasher and tumble dryer without worrying about the pennies.

What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?

IONITY – never had any issues with them.

Insurer

Admiral – insurance only went up by a tenner a month when changing from ICE to BEV.

Please itemise where you’re saving money (or not) owning & running a Peugeot e-208

I spent £3,000 in fuel in the last year of owning my ICE car and I’d done about 14,000 miles. So far, in my BEV, I’ve done 12,000 miles and spent £350 topping it up (home and public charging).
