Bolton kona unsurprisingly drives a Hyundai Kona Electric 64kWh 2022.

This is Bolton’s first electric car, he’s owned the Kona Electric less than 1 year and drives 10,000-15,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 10,000-20,000 miles and he achieves 305 miles from a full charge.

 

Why did you choose the Hyundai Kona Electric?

Wanted a range of 250+ miles.

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

Was delivered with a flat battery (not the main battery) but once charged it has been faultless.

 

What are the standout technological features of the car?

Smart cruise control, lane warnings, auto settings for lights and wipers, regenerative braking, tyre pressure warnings, distance sensors, reversing camera, heated seats & 4 driving options.

Nice pocket for sunglasses, lots of boot space & an app that can pre-warm or defrost the car before you get in.

 

What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?

None, I’m sticking with my Kona.

 

Home charging unit – outline both positive & negative elements 

Sync EV – small and compact but needs a good internet connection to work. 7kW only, so needs 9 hours to charge from flat. App is not very user friendly. Can’t use some EV rates e.g. Octopus.

EDF tariff (May-22) – can’t change for 2 years and it was the only one I could get at the time, very inflexible.

No

esure – expensive but not sure how they compare.
