Citroën ë-Dispatch 2022 electric van owner review

Citroën ë-Dispatch 2022 electric van owner review

Mark N drives a Citroën ë-Dispatch 75kWh 2022.

This is Mark’s third electric vehicle, he’s owned the ë-Dispatch from new and drives 10,000-15,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 10,000-20,000 miles and he achieves 175 miles from a full charge.

Why did you choose the Citroën ë-Dispatch?

We needed a van for moving equipment around and for a longer delivery trip (Poland). The ë-Dispatch has just about enough range that it’s doable for longer trips without adding too much to the journey time. It also feels and drives pretty much like a ‘normal’ van. It’s comfortable and has normal knobs and dials for things like the heater and wipers, which I prefer to the touchscreens that seem to be in vogue in the Tesla etc.

Positives – List 3 or more reasons why you love this electric car

  • Great range
  • nippy
  • feels like a ‘normal’ van.

Negatives – List 3 or more things that you really don’t like about this electric car

  • More range would always be good
  • expensive to buy
  • no percentage battery readout for the driver.

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

None so far.

What are the standout technological features of the car?

It hasn’t really got any fancy techie stuff which is one of the reasons that I like it so much! The sat nav is pretty good.

Surprise us! Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about this electric car

Comfy, quiet and a big enough front seat bench to sleep (comfortably) on.

What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?

MG5 EV because an estate car with decent range would be ideal for personal use.

Home charging unit – outline both positive & negative elements

QUBEV – super simple, dirt cheap & no frills. No connectivity so no phone control etc. This means we rely on timers etc in the cars to schedule charging but they work fine, so not a big problem.

Electricity supplier & tariff – outline both positive & negative elements

We’re mostly off-grid but have an old style ScottishPower white meter setup that we sometimes use to top things up at night. Basically, it works fine for us!

What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?

  • IONITY, InstaVolt, Tesla & Osprey are all very good
  • bp in the UK never seem to work and are rivalled only by ORLEN in Poland for their lack of support and zero functionality.

Please itemise where you’re saving money (or not) owning & running a Citroën ë-Dispatch

Charging from solar off-grid setup makes local mileage more or less free, the lack of maintenance required is also a huge win. Long trips using rapid chargers are expensive but relatively infrequent. Between 3 x EVs we think we save about £250 per month.
