Renault Megane E-Tech 2023 electric car owner review

Renault Megane E-Tech 2023 electric car owner review

Paul Vincent drives a Renault Megane E-Tech Launch Edition 60kWh 2023.

This is Paul’s first electric car, he’s owned the Megane E-Tech from new and drives 5,000-10,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 0-500 miles and he achieves 165 miles from a full charge.

Why did you choose the Renault Megane E-Tech?

Honestly? The colour was the main selling point; the technology a close second and the body shape and how it drives were also reasons.

Positives – List 3 or more reasons why you love this electric car

  • It’s so comfortable
  • I love the technology
  • its so easy to drive.

Negatives – List 3 or more things that you really don’t like about this electric car

  • Boot release button is too small
  • when boot lid is released it does not pop up enough to get a good grip.

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

None

What are the standout technological features of the car?

I particularly like, and use constantly, the adaptive cruise control. I had it in my previous car and it works exactly the same in this car, although I would say I am much more confident of it in this car. I think the screen that replaces the rear mirror is very innovative and useful, as the car has a very small rear window, the screen provides an exceptionally good view.

Surprise us! Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about this electric car

I personally think the boot space is exceptional and combined with that you still get an ‘extra’ space to put your cable.

What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?

I was always interested in a full electric version of the Ford Puma but gave up waiting.

Home charging unit – outline both positive & negative elements

Easee one charging unit – very happy with it and it’s untethered so doesn’t clutter the garage up.

What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?

Only tried one, Pod Point – they helped us out with using it so happy with them, cost seemed OK.

Insurer – outline both positive & negative elements

Cheap and cheerful, I’ll let you know if I need to make a claim.

Please itemise where you’re saving money owning & running a Renault Megane E-Tech

First impressions, paying about half what I would for petrol using electric, approx. £30 per month.
