Nissan ARIYA 2022 electric car owner review

Richard Alston drives a Nissan ARIYA 87kWh 2022.

This is Richard’s second electric car, he’s owned the Nissan ARIYA from new and drives 10,000-15,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 1,000-5,000 miles and he achieves 260 miles from a full charge.

Why did you choose a Nissan ARIYA?

Surprise us! Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about this electric car

Build quality is outstanding.

What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?

I would like to see more mass production of cheaper electric cars.

Home charging unit – outline both positive & negative elements

I have a Pod Point charger at home but newer and more intelligent options are now available. Charging at home is the cheapest and most convenient way to charge.

Electricity supplier & tariff – outline both positive & negative elements

You need to review what plan is best if you want a cheaper tariff overnight against usage during the day and also if you have solar panels. Octopus seems to be the best all round at the moment.

What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?

Occasionally use motorway chargers from Gridserve. On the whole they’re reliable but have had the odd issue.

Insurer – outline both positive & negative elements

Insured with Admiral as part of MultiCar policy, no complaints.

Please itemise where you’re saving money owning & running a Nissan ARIYA

The difference between what was being used in petrol per month is about £220 and now electricity at about £55 a month. Servicing is also less but difficult to put a value on it.
