Why did you purchase the Wallbox Pulsar Plus unit?

A simple unit that was small and neat and so would be unobtrusive when fitted. Generally good customer reviews. The description on the supplier website appeared to meet my needs.

Tell us about your home charging routine.

I am a relatively low mileage driver, covering about 200-250 miles per week with occasional longer trips up to about 300 miles in a day. My routine is to charge the car fully overnight on Sunday and then ‘top up’ where I can use chargers in car parks to get access to EV parking bays. If the charge falls below about 60% during the week, I will charge again overnight, in case of an unexpected longer trip. Before a long trip, I obviously charge to 100% the night before and if needed charge again along the route at public chargers.

If you were buying a new charging unit now, what would you buy and why?

I would probably buy this one again as I don’t need integration with solar power or easy integration with overnight low-cost electricity tariffs.

Tell us about your electricity provider and tariff. Would you recommend them?

Shell Energy renewable power fixed price tariff. No specific allowance for EV charging. Remarkably good value for money now, although the cost is the same throughout the 24-hour cycle.

Are you part of a charger-sharing scheme for those who don’t have their own charger?

No
