Tell us about your home charging routine.
I use my EV about 3/4 times per week averaging 120 plus miles. I do about 250 to 400 miles per week around 6 times per year. In a normal week I charge twice. The charger is setup to schedule a charge every night ( if the car is connected) for 5 hours during my cheap energy period. In summer, it will also charge from solar if enough surplus energy is being produced.
If you were buying a new charging unit now, what would you buy and why?
zappi due to what I have already said about it.
Tell us about your electricity provider and tariff. Would you recommend them?
Octopus Energy on Octopus Go – 5 hours at 5.5p per kWh from 20:30 to 01:30 every day. My average weekly cost is around £3. I would recommend this supplier and tariff.
Are you part of a charger-sharing scheme for those who don’t have their own charger?
My charger is listed on Zap-Map.
