Tell us about your home charging set-up
I have just had a 7kw untethered wall charger fitted by The Phoenix Works. I chose this option as it is a subscription service as opposed to paying outright. For me, it should be far more cost effective and also if it goes wrong, they will come and fix it free of additional charge.

The installation was done by a very courteous young chap and is a very neat job. He explained it all to me and waited to see it working before he left. I had previously been let down by one supplier on an outright purchase and had some very questionable quotes from other pushy suppliers. These guys made it simple and whilst it’s early days, I’m delighted.

Tell us about your home charging routine
I use my i3 daily and cover about 200 miles per week. I’m still getting used to a charging routine but it’ll pan out at twice weekly at home with a possible rapid charge if I’m further afield.

Are you part of a charger-sharing scheme for those who don’t have their own charger?
No.

Tell us about your electricity provider and tariff
I’m with Scottish Power at the moment and am just about to discuss an EV-friendly tariff hopefully. Watch this space!

Are you planning on changing your charger and/or electricity supplier and if so to who and why?
Not currently.

Estimate how much money you save per month owning and running an EV compared to an ICE car
I’d say between £60 – £70.
