David Cockle drives a Škoda Enyaq 58kWh 2022, standard specification.
This is David’s first electric car, he’s owned the Škoda Enyaq 3-4 years and drives under 5,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 5,000-10,000 miles and he achieves 200 miles on an 80% charge.
Why did you choose the Škoda Enyaq?
- Positive reviews
- affordability
- good range on 80-90% charge
- specification.

Negatives
In February 2026 two warning lights appeared on the dashboard, suggesting there was a possible drive or battery issue. My service provider ran a diagnostic check and advised that the heater coil had failed. A replacement heater coil has been on back order for over four months. Neither VAG, Skoda UK or Skoda in the Czech Republic can advise when a new heater coil will be shipped to my service partner; the VAG spares supply system is a total failure.
Compared to when you first bought the car, does your battery still charge at the same rate & do you still get the same range?
Yes
Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?
Yes, see my answer above in ‘Negatives’ with the heater coil, plus software updates.
What are the standout technological features of the car?
- Comfort
- driving performance.
Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about your Škoda Enyaq
It’s an EV!
What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?
Probably not a Skoda or a VAG product judging by current spares issue. Could be a Polestar or a Kia, though.
Home charging unit
Ohme ePod – excellent, no issues.
What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?
- Positive – bp pulse, Gridserve
- Negative – InstaVolt.
