KIA EV3 2025 electric car owner review

KIA EV3 2025 electric car owner review

Happy Harry drives a KIA EV3 81.4kWh 2025 electric car.

This is Harry’s first electric car, he’s owned the EV3 from new and drives under 5,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 1,000-5,000 miles and he achieves 383 miles range from a full charge.

Why did you choose the KIA EV3?

Had a KIA Niro Hybrid and then a KIA Niro PHEV, both of which were excellent.

Positives

  • Instant acceleration when needed
  • quietness and refinement
  • ease of driving.

Negatives

  • Nothing I can think of!

Compared to when you first bought the car, does your battery still charge at the same rate & do you still get the same range?

Yes, if anything it has increased!

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

No faults

What are the standout technological features of the car?

  • Smart Cruise Control
  • Easy home charging – just plug-in and it charges at an off-peak rate.

Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about your KIA EV3

  • The range
  • quietness
  • smoothness of power delivery
  • and just the general ease of use!

What’s the biggest or funniest myth you’ve heard about EVs?

  • They don’t get the range
  • batteries don’t last long
  • electricity cost is too high – yes, I’m lucky I can charge at home but at 8p per kWh the running costs are very low!
  • too expensive to service – it’s around half of an ICE (internal combustion engine) vehicle!
  • they catch fire very easily – statistics show around three times more ICE engines burst into flames.

What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?

Due to the first-class service I will stick with KIA. I would love to replace my diesel-engine motorhome with an electric version! Roll on the KIA EV van later this year!

Home charging unit

myenergi zappi – easy to use.

Electricity supplier & tariff

Octopus – I switched before the charger was installed due to the incompetence of my previous supplier and the good service offered by Octopus Energy.

Do you use public charging networks?

No

Insurance

Liverpool Victoria – no issues.

Please itemise where you’re saving money (or not) owning & running a KIA EV3

Energy costs and servicing. Not had it long enough to calculate the savings but they will be substantial.
