This is Art’s first electric car, he’s owned the Volkswagen ID.3 1-2 years and drives under 5,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 20,000-30,000 miles and he achieves 170 miles from a full charge.
Why did you choose the Volkswagen ID.3?
I’ve always driven Volkswagens so that’s why I chose the ID.3. I love the car but the range is rubbish, 100% charge is 170 miles. I have been at the dealer a few times complaining about it but they’re not interested.
Positives
They’re about the easiest car to drive.
Negatives
At the moment the mileage and the VW dealership are not interested to help, especially Barnetts Dundee 😡😡
Compared to when you first bought the car, does your battery still charge at the same rate & do you still get the same range?
It’s never been great since I bought it. I’ve never had over 200 miles on a 100% charge so is there any help out there?
Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?
Just the mileage which has not been seen to as I have already said, the garage is not interested.

I’m 78 years old and I just want the car to do what it’s meant to do, which is the range should be around 266 miles which l haven’t had since I bought it.
What’s the biggest or funniest myth you’ve heard about EVs?
My son says they’re white goods 🤣🤣
What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?
Somewhere where you’re treated better than VW and they look into any problems you have with the car especially when it’s under warranty, as mine is.

I would be better off if I got the desired range but I’m retired so I just use it for pleasure and not work so it’s good for me.
