Nissan ARIYA 2024 electric car owner review

John Morris drives a Nissan ARIYA e-4ORCE 87kWh 2024.

This is John’s second electric car, he’s owned the Nissan ARIYA from new and drives 5,000-10,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 1,000-5,000 miles and he achieves 280 miles from a full charge.

Why did you choose the Nissan ARIYA?

Best fit for size, range, looks and features.

Positives

Great drive, smooth, very responsive and loads of extras.

Negatives

Too many features and tech, too many touch buttons and no 12 volt battery monitoring.

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

No faults

What are the standout technological features of the car?

  • Head up display – never knew I needed it but now I can’t live without it!
  • voice activation that works!

Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about your Nissan ARIYA

Just a delightful car that’s great to use.

What’s the biggest or funniest myth you’ve heard about EVs?

They can’t tow stuff, which they can very well.

What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?

KIA EV5 – looks great and should be perfect for our needs.

Home charging unit

myenergi zappi – syncs well with my solar array and a great app.

Electricity supplier & tariff

Just switched to Octopus and will utilise their low cost tariff as soon as my home battery is installed.

What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?

Any that work, some are more expensive but that’s usually based on speed of charge.

Insurance

Change every year, currently use a local broker in Swindon.

Please itemise where you’re saving money (or not) owning & running a Nissan ARIYA

Fuel costs and until this year road tax too. Fuel is at least a fifth of the cost, if not more.
