Why did you choose the Polestar 2?

Negatives

  • Poor cup holder design
  • poor visibility
  • suspension surprisingly noisy.

Compared to when you first bought the car, does your battery still charge at the same rate & do you still get the same range?

Yes

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

  • 12v socket in boot no longer works
  • climate control temperature occasionally temperamental.

What are the standout technological features of the car?

  • Google built-in
  • sound system
  • digital key.

Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about this electric car

  • ‘Curry hook’ in glovebox
  • newer Polestar 2s RWD resulting in great handling.

What’s the biggest or funniest myth you’ve heard about EVs?

“Batteries explode”

“Not greener than petrol cars”

“Expensive to run”

“Not fun to drive”

“Have to recharge every 100 miles”

“Soulless to drive”.

What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?

BMW i5 and CUPRA Born VZ potentially to replace current petrol Golf.

Home charging unit

Ohme Home Pro – easy to use, reliable. Not very nice looking on the front of house and the cable is unsightly but non-tethered is also available.

Electricity supplier & tariff

Intelligent Octopus Go – excellent, can’t fault it!

What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?

Tesla – only ones we use unless no availability. Cheaper and never had an issue.

Insurer

Admiral – didn’t charge any extra when switching from Hyundai i30N, despite similar power and Polestar being worth over twice as much.
