Škoda ENYAQ 2022 electric car owner review

Škoda ENYAQ 2022 electric car owner review

CTP drives a Škoda ENYAQ iV 60 2022.

This is CTP’s first electric car, they’ve owned the Škoda ENYAQ from new and drive 5,000-10,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 5,000-10,000 miles and they achieve 200 miles from a full charge.

Why did you choose the Škoda ENYAQ?

Great experience with previous Škoda dealer (Henrys, Glasgow).

Positives – List 3 or more reasons why you love this electric car

  • Looks good
  • easy to drive
  • quiet
  • versatile.

Negatives – List 3 or more things that you really don’t like about this electric car

  • Not a lot, maybe the app.

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

Puddle lights now a white blob, not really a problem though.

What are the standout technological features of the car?

  • Adaptive matrix headlights – once used you won’t go back to normal lights. Switch them on then leave the tech to do the business.
  • Adaptive cruise control, with limiter if you wish to use it
  • Sign recognition that does make you keep to the speed limit, reducing your speed as you approach lower speed areas using regen braking automatically
  • 360 degrees camera and parking aids are a must as it’s a surprisingly big car
  • preheating the car in winter with heated seats & steering wheel
  • driving mode choice from Eco to Sport & Individual
  • flappy paddles that control regen and I use all the time
  • electric boot with waggle foot control that works a treat even for my 5-year old grandson.

Surprise us! Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about this electric car

The panoramic roof really lifts the interior ambience, as does the, let’s call it, ‘chestnut’ coloured ecoSuite interior, with variable ambient lights. I still get a kick when the lights come on as you approach the car at night. Also a nice touch that the door lights turn red when they’re opened. Plenty of storage, under the central console and large door bins (with hidden pocket at the back of the front ones).

What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?

Another Škoda because I struggle to fault the ENYAQ.

Home charging unit

myenergi zappi 2 – easy to use with a great app that allows me to use solar without any hassle.

Electricity supplier & tariff

Luckily I’m on a long-term tariff with SO that is considerably cheaper than is available today and they are able to take regular smart readings.

Insurer

Flow – no negatives, easy to use online and I’ve now just renewed with a minimal increase in price.

Please itemise where you’re saving money (or not) owning & running a Škoda ENYAQ

Fuel saving is the biggest saving as over the year I’ve saved approx. £1,200.
