MG ZS EV 2022 electric car owner review

MG ZS EV 2022 electric car owner review

Peter drives a MG ZS EV Trophy 72kWh Long Range 2022.

This is Peter’s first electric car, he’s owned the MG ZS EV from new and drives 5,000-10,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 1,000-5,000 miles and he achieves 230 miles from a full charge.

Why did you choose the MG ZS EV?

Had a MG Auto 1.0L and was impressed by the ride, seat height and spec so tested an EV version of the same model and was very impressed with the ease of driving and quietness of the car.

Home charging unit – outline both positive & negative elements

I don’t get wet as the charger is in my garage.

Electricity supplier & tariff – outline both positive & negative elements

£0.34 per kWh – looked at off-peak but would cost me more on Day tariff.

What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?

No problems with Pod Point 7kWh or Rapids 50kWh and InstaVolt 50kWh and 150kWh chargers. Had one problem with A GRIDSERVE charger at IKEA Reading. The outward journey to Dover was OK but the same location failed to charge on several units (on the return journey) so went to InstaVolt and it charged OK after a wait for charger to be free.
