What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?

I will keep this one for 5 years.

Home charging unit – outline both positive & negative elements

My Wallbox charger is superb and has software enabling me to charge at cheap night-time rates.

Electricity supplier & tariff – outline both positive & negative elements

My supplier Utility Warehouse has a best in-class night rate of 10p per kWh, available from 12.30am to 7.30am. The day rate is on the high side but as I have solar panels this is less of a problem.

What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?

IONITY, GRIDSERVE and bp pulse have all worked well for me.

Insurer – outline both positive & negative elements

LV is my multi-car insurer – I had no problem switching from a petrol car to an all electric, price was OK.

Please itemise where you’re saving money owning & running your MG5 EV

  • servicing is less at £120 per annum
  • costing me £500 more in PCP costs.
