Nissan ARIYA 2022 electric car owner review

Nissan ARIYA 2022 electric car owner review

Iceburg drives a Nissan ARIYA 87kWh 2022.

This is Iceburg’s second electric car, he’s owned the Nissan ARIYA from new and drives under 5,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 0-500 miles and he achieves 300 miles from a full charge.

Why did you choose the Nissan ARIYA?

I already own a Nissan LEAF 62kWh and have owned Nissan cars in the past. They have always been great and reliable. We have always had one large and now one smaller car in the family. The ARIYA looked a very good option for a bigger car.

Positives – List 3 or more reasons why you love this electric car

  • It’s very stylish
  • has a good range
  • very comfortable.

Negatives – List 3 or more things that you really don’t like about this electric car

  • Small problem with the pre-warm up of the car. If the alarm is set the pre-heating sets off the alarm.
  • the boot is not very big because of the batteries.

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

None, other than the pre warm up alarm problem.

What are the standout technological features of your Nissan ARIYA?

  • Very quiet
  • the two 12 inch screens are super and very easy to use
  • I also like the “Hey Nissan” feature for doing things rather than using switches (e.g. “Hey Nissan, turn on climate control”)
  • the two memory settings for the driver’s seat
  • wireless phone charger works well.

Surprise us! Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about this electric car

The car just works. It’s very well thought out, I do really like it.

What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?

Waiting to see what the all new LEAF will look like.

Home charging unit – outline both positive & negative elements

Indra smart charger – it works with my solar panels so most of my charging is free.

Electricity supplier & tariff – outline both positive & negative elements

Shell Energy is OK.

What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?

I don’t use public charging often but Osprey, InstaVolt, GRIDSERVE & Pod Point are all good. Even more options now with the ARIYA being a CCS charger. With my LEAF’s CHAdeMO system I was a bit more limited with charging stations.

Insurer – outline both positive & negative elements

AA insurance – I feel confident using a big brand name.

Please itemise where you’re saving money owning & running a Nissan ARIYA

Even with 2 electric cars the solar panels mostly keep both cars charged up. But our total mileage is not huge. So cost wise we spend almost nothing on charging.
