Tesla Model 3 2021 electric car owner review

Sarah P drives a Tesla Model 3 SR+ 2021 electric car.

This is Sarah’s first electric car, she’s owned the Tesla Model 3 under 1 year and drives 5,000-10,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 5,000-10,000 miles and she achieves 245 miles range from a full charge.

Why did you choose the Tesla Model 3?

I’ve always been inspired by how Tesla have driven EV development. I’m sure I’ll own other makes of EV but starting with a Tesla made sense to me.

Positives – List 3 or more reasons why you love this electric car

  • Efficient
  • Easy
  • The best car I’ve ever owned and driven.

Negatives – List 3 or more things that you really don’t like about this electric car

  • It’d be helpful if Tesla had a service centre a little closer
  • Bird poop seems to mark the paintwork quite easily
  • Seats get a little sweaty in very hot weather.

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

No faults so far!

What are the standout technological features of the car?

Everything is automatic. I know people like to have buttons but you really don’t need it. I also love the regular OTA updates, in eight months of ownership, new features have been added and others improved.

Surprise us! Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about this electric car

I love that pressing the button on the charging cable will open the car’s charge point door.

What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?

We’re looking forward to a good sized BEV estate car. We’re not really SUV/4×4 people.

Outline both positive & negative elements of your home charging unit

We have the SyncEV – it had some initial issues but their very helpful support updated the firmware and it’s now rock steady/reliable.

Outline both positive & negative elements of your electricity supplier & tariff

Octopus Go – we’re fortunate to have a a very low nigh-time rate until Jan 2023. The negative will be when this ends but we’re looking at solar and a battery to help limit the rise in prices.

What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?

Tesla’s Supercharger Network is fantastic. It’s also great to see this being opened up to all EVs.

Outline both positive & negative elements of your insurer

Direct Line – good prices and highly recommended by Which?
