Nissan LEAF 2014 electric car owner review

Nissan LEAF 2014 electric car owner review

Stephen Irving drives a Nissan LEAF 24kWh 2014 electric car.

This is Stephen’s first electric car, he’s owned the Nissan LEAF for less than 1 year and drives 5,000-10,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 30,000-40,000 miles and he achieves 70 miles range from a full charge.

Why did you choose the Nissan LEAF?

I began reading reviews on EVs and decided a Nissan LEAF would suit me perfectly. A lot of my mileage is local, running the grandkids about, taking the wife to work, shopping etc. As I was using roughly £25 to £30 a week in petrol I thought I could save a lot of money by charging the EV overnight from a 3pin plug. And I was right, as I’m now spending less than £10 per week.

We did do a week’s holiday to Filey from Huddersfield and had to do a fast charge halfway there and on the way back but we made it OK. I charged the car up every night at the caravan and we did over 500 miles in a week for a fraction of the cost of petrol.
