Why did you choose this car?
It has the best miles:cost car ratio of most EVs.

Positives – List 3 or more reasons why you love this car?

  • Nippy in town driving
  • Cheap to fuel from solar on my roof
  • Comfortable and smooth drive.

Negatives – List 3 or more things that you really don’t like about this car?

  • A few creaks occasionally.

Surprise us! Tell us something surprising about this car?
The only car on the market that can charge from 1.4kW up to 22.5kW.

What EV are you interested in next and why?
Hoping to keep the car for 8 years or so. No immediate interest in other cars at the moment.

What home charging unit do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?
I have a myenergi Zappi 2 charger. It is brilliant, especially as it works well with solar panels and other products like Eddi which diverts solar to immersion heaters. The myenergi app is one of the best too.

What home electricity supplier & tariff do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?
I have switched to Octopus Energy and I’m on the Go tariff that gives 4 hours of charging at night at 5p. Daytime tariff is 14.4p which is lower than all other energy suppliers. I only charge during the day if my solar is available or at night. Including public charging, the net cost per mile is running around 2p/mile unlike petrol which is 12p or more.

What public charging networks do you use? Would you recommend them to others and why?
The best chargers are probably Gridserve, Instavolt and Osprey. I try and use these on longer journeys (holidays etc). All these chargers allow use of debit cards and are very reliable. Gridserve is now also the cheapest of these at 30p/kWh.

Who do you insure your EV with? Would you recommend them to others and why?
I am currently using Direct Line. I used them before my first EV when I had my last ICE car (VW Polo). Direct Line were actually cheaper when I changed to my EV in 2020. So familiarity and price were the drivers, although I do switch every few years if the prices start to rise.
