Ford Capri Extended Range Premium 2025 Owner Review

Ford Capri Extended Range Premium 2025 Owner Review

Macadder drives a Ford Capri Extended Range 77kWh Premium RWD 2025.

This is Macadder’s third electric car, he’s owned the Capri less than a year and drives between 5,000-10,000 miles per year. The current mileage is between 1,000-5,000 miles and he achieves 250 miles range from an 80% charge. The Driver’s Assistance Pack was added.

Why did you choose the Ford Capri?

I wanted 5 seats plus a bigger boot and a slightly longer range than my previous car.

Positives

  • Very easy to drive
  • love it on the motorway, with ACC the car almost drives itself and it is a very relaxing drive.

Negatives

  • The only minor niggle and it is minor, because the rest of the car is pretty amazing. I would like a foot rest to the right of the accelerator the same as there is on the left side by the brake pedal.

Compared to when you first bought the car, does your battery still charge at the same rate & do you still get the same range?

Yes, no difference.

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

Hopefully finger crossed not yet!

What are the standout technological features of the car?

The HUD is good and so too is the infotainment panel, it’s quick and responsive. You can also customise the ‘wake up summons’ for the voice control which is great fun. The rest of the tech is first class and works how it should.

Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about your Ford Capri

Touch your foot under the boot area and the cavernous boot opens up. Slide the infotainment panel up and there is a secret storage area. When the car IS locked the panel is down, it locks in place making it a safe place for valuables!

What’s the biggest or funniest myth you’ve heard about EVs?

They burst into flames, are slow like milk floats and you cannot charge them up anywhere.

What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?

Polestar 4 and whatever next maybe round the corner in three years.

Home charging unit

Andersen Quartz Wallbox

Electricity supplier & tariff

Intelligent Octopus Go (IOG) – great for overnight charging as they offer a cheap rate plus everything else in the house runs on the cheap rate. Also, if you set a charge, IOG will decide when to start charging and that could be during the day but they will still give you the cheap tariff plus everything else is on the cheap tariff, so run that tumble dryer!

Do you use public charging networks?

No

Insurance

Sheilas’ Wheels – they provided a very competitive rate. I had been with Aviva for a couple of years until my renewal was hiked up by nearly £100 without any claims, whatsoever!

Please itemise where you’re saving money (or not) owning & running a Ford Capri

Not filling up every week with £50-£70 worth of diesel and having the luxury of ‘filling up’ at home overnight.
