Polestar 2 79kWh 2023 Owner Review

Polestar 2 79kWh 2023 Owner Review

Glen drives a Polestar 2 79kWh 2022.

This is Glen’s first electric car, he’s owned the Polestar 2 less than a year and drives 5,000-10,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 50,000-60,000 miles and he achieves 240 miles from an 80% charge.

Why did you choose the Polestar 2?

I originally bought an I-PACE but with the amount of issues I had in 13 days of ownership I returned it. A month later I saw the Polestar, took it for a test drive and I enjoyed it so much I purchased it!

Positives

With winter approaching I love the convenience of warming the cabin/windows/wing mirrors all from the comfort of my bed ha ha! Not to mention the heated seats…!

Negatives

At the moment I’ve not found anything I dislike other than the 1 cupholder. Polestar have really messed up with that idea, ha ha!

Polestar 2 79kWh 2023 Owner Review

Compared to when you first bought the car, does your battery still charge at the same rate & do you still get the same range?

I get the same range.

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

I’m currently keeping my eye on the wireless charging as it doesn’t seem to work; or if I’m charging the car at work, my rear windows seem to go down on the app?!?

What are the standout technological features of the car?

Google maps as standard, heated seats, mirrors and (front & back) windows all work amazing. And my personal favourite is one pedal driving!

Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about your Polestar 2

The car is well-equipped. If you are looking for one, make sure it has a Winter Pack on which will include a heated steering wheel.

What’s the biggest or funniest myth you’ve heard about EVs?

Range anxiety. I’ve had 0 issues living near the Trafford Centre, I just pop down and I’m back to 260+ miles in no time.

What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?

Polestar 4 or whatever else comes out in 4 years’ time

Do you charge your electric car from home?

No

Do you use public charging networks?

Yes

What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?

Arnold Clark, Tesla (Trafford Centre) or just get an Electroverse card and you’ll usually get discounted charging.

Insurance

It’s the cheapest I’ve ever had in over 20 years’ of driving so I’m very happy.

Please itemise where you’re saving money (or not) owning & running a Polestar 2

Charging at work for free is a big help!
