William drives a Tesla Model 3 Long Range AWD 72kWh 2021.
This is William’s second electric car, he’s owned the Model 3 1-2 years and drives 5,000-10,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 30,000-40,000 miles and he achieves 257 miles range from an 80% charge.
Why did you choose the Tesla Model 3?
It’s just a fantastic car with all the toys. It has supercar speed but doesn’t require supercar money and so cheap to run. What a car!
Positives & Negatives
No negatives, just a great car with a fantastic charging network.
Compared to when you first bought the car, does your battery still charge at the same rate & do you still get the same range?
At the moment I have lost 3 miles when charging to 80%. It was 260 miles now 257 which is great as that’s just over 1.5 years.
Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?
Under warranty the rear light cluster was replaced and one wiper jet was blocked. All done with no problems. Great service!
What are the standout technological features of the car?
The regenerative braking, speed and the charging network – 5 Stars!
Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about your Model 3
The app in the winter is great: get up, set defrost and you get into a warm car. The heat pump is fantastic and it doesn’t use a lot of your battery either. My first EV was a Peugeot e-208 GT, a nice car but when I put the heater on it lost so so much mileage as it had no heat pump.
What’s the biggest or funniest myth you’ve heard about EVs?
Have to wait a long time to charge and they will burst in to flames, ha ha.
What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?
It will always be a Tesla…
Electricity supplier & tariff
British Gas Electric Driver V16
What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?
TESLA ,TESLA ,TESLA – it’s so easy.
Insurance
Admiral – great service although a little expensive but it does include breakdown service.
