Craig drives a Peugeot e-2008 100kWh 2020.

This is Craig’s first electric car, he’s owned the Peugeot e-2008 for 3 years and drives 10,000-15,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 20,000-30,000 miles and he achieves 155 miles from a full charge.

Compared to when you first bought the car, does your battery still charge at the same rate & do you still get the same range?

Yes, home charging is perfect & the range only varies with outside temperature.

 

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

  • Software updates installed
  • no faults.

 

What are the standout technological features of the car?

  • Intergeneration with home Ohme charger and Octopus Energy
  • sat nav navigation with TomTom.

  • Boot space can be enlarged with removal of floor shelf
  • useful driving mode selections: Eco,Normal & Sport
  • brake regeneration charging.

 

What’s the biggest or funniest myth you’ve heard about EVs?

  • Expensive to run, not!
  • public charging not good
  • they cost as much to run as ICE cars!

  • great intelligent charging.

Octopus Intelligent is great.

 

What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?

  • All are improving
  • 7kW and 22kW should be discontinued
  • I use 14 different apps and Electroverse which is connected to my home electric account
  • depends were you are in the country
  • the key is to plan ahead and use Zapmap and the appropriate apps.

 

Insurer – outline both positive & negative elements

Insurance went up 60% in 2023/24 policy. It’s now £380 which is still OK but why the increase?
