Jaguar I-PACE 2020 electric car owner review

‘Not as good as I thought it would be’ drives a Jaguar I-PACE EV400 2020.

This is Not’s first electric car, they’ve owned the Jaguar I-PACE 2-3 years and drive under 5,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 10,000-20,000 miles and they achieve 225 miles from a full charge.

Why did you choose the Jaguar I-PACE?

Range, I have family in Italy.

Positives – List the main reasons why you love this electric car

  • Power
  • quietness.

Negatives – List the main points you don’t like about this electric car

  • Ride
  • range unreliability.

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

  • Heater
  • battery
  • tyres
  • multiple electric faults that keep coming up and the dealer response times are very slow.

What are the standout technological features of the car?

Drivetrain is about all.

Surprise us! Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about this electric car

It will never do the claimed 350 miles to a charge!

What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?

None, I’ve had enough of this type of car.

Home charging unit – outline both positive & negative elements

Slow and expensive.

Electricity supplier & tariff – outline both positive & negative elements

UW are better than British Gas but it’s still extremely expensive to run the car, approximately 27p per mile. Our old Ford Focus is about 13p per mile.

What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?

Any that work! It’s getting silly at Services, the queues are very long at times.
