Provide your overall rating for the charging unit

Which company installed it and would you recommend them?

The unit was installed by Pod Point and the engineer left without ensuring the unit worked!

How much did you pay for your unit and installation?

£495

Why did you purchase this particular unit?

Recommended by Audi who had a half price offer. As it was recommended I didn’t do much research.

List 3 or more points that you like about the charging unit

  • Discrete looking.

List 3 or more points that you don’t like about the charging unit

  • Still can’t get it to work on a timed basis and customer support has been slow to respond and quite dismissive.

Outline any faults you have experienced with the unit

Timed charging doesn’t work. It might well be user error but customer services have been unhelpful.

Tell us about your home charging routine

Low mileage user, approx. 200 per week. Charge using car timer whenever electricity is cheap. Audi in-car timer works very well but you need to set from within car and not via an app.

If you were buying a new charging unit now, what would you buy and why?

I would do a lot of research and not just take the charger offered by the dealer.

Tell us about your electricity provider and tariff. Would you recommend them?

Octopus Agile – each 10% additional charge (that’s approx. 30 miles) has cost just pennies to-date as I can choose when to charge and only charge when rates are low or negative. I’m expecting winter to be more expensive but not significantly so. Agile works very well for me as not a high mileage user (100- 200 miles per week) and cannot therefore justify an EV-focussed tariff.

Are you part of a charger-sharing scheme for those who don’t have their own charger?

No
