Ford Mustang Mach-E 2022 electric car owner review

Nigel drives a Ford Mustang Mach-E Extended Range AWD 2022 electric car.

This is Nigel’s first electric car, he’s owned the Mach-E from new and drives 10,000-15,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 1,000-5,000 miles and he achieves 280 miles range from a full charge.

Why did you choose this electric car?

One of the things that first drew me to this car was the badge, an electric car with the iconic Mustang badge was controversial but I definitely think it worked. The styling is fantastic, I love the lights, the push button door opening, the illusion of looking like a coupe with the piano black roof, there have been so many great design choices going in to this car. I was also impressed with the mileage that this car achieves, I am not sure I will get to the 335 range that Ford suggests but I have had 296 out of it even though I use its acceleration to the full.

The instant power from electric cars would be very hard to move away from again. I also love how few of these I see on the road, it’s a definite head turner for both pedestrians and other drivers. Despite the controversy of the name, other ICE Mustang drivers wave or acknowledge me all the time, my Mach-E has definitely been accepted in to the stables.

Positives – List 3 or more reasons why you love this electric car

  • Styling
  • performance
  • range.

Negatives – List 3 or more things that you really don’t like about this electric car

  • Limited seat adjustments
  • no button on the remote to open the frunk
  • Ford badge on the windscreen.

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

The only issue I have had is the door opening actuator on the passenger door, it should push the door open when you press the button. New part is on order.

What are the standout tech features of the car?

  • 15.5 inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay
  • intelligent adaptive cruise control that keeps to the speed limits
  • B&O sound system
  • selectable driving modes (99% in untamed mode).

Keypad entry so you can open the car without the keys or lock keys inside if going for a run or swim so you don’t damage or lose them.

Mustang Mach E GT – my current car is amazing, why not just go for more power and active suspension or an Audi e-tron, as I think it looks gorgeous.
