Martyn Winspear drives a Jaguar I-PACE HSE 90kWh 2018 electric car.
This is Martyn’s first electric car, he’s owned the I-PACE under 1 year and drives between 15,000-20,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 5,000-10,000 miles and he achieves 240 miles range from a full charge.

Why did you choose the Jaguar I-PACE?
Unlike many electric cars, the I-PACE is a car manufactured by a prestigious brand, the quality is superior to most and just so happens to be electric and full of technology. I didn’t want a car built by a technology company with very poor build quality. This is the best of both worlds in my eyes.
Positives
- More than adequate range
- Great design and build quality
- Really fun car to drive, it actually handles amazingly for a heavy car.
Negatives
There isn’t anything I don’t like, the only thing that could be better in the future would be a higher than 100kW maximum charge speed. With 350kW fast chargers popping up now this will completely change long journeys in electric vehicles.
Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?
None
What are the standout tech features of the car?
It literally has every option possible. Being a Jaguar Land Rover vehicle it is like driving a smaller Range Rover, just electric. It has every safety and driver assistance aid available to-date including semi-autonomous driving.
Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about this electric car
Anyone who has done their research would know everything about them.
What electric car are you interested in next and why?
I’m happy with the I-PACE. Maybe in a couple of years I’d buy another, especially if they increase the charge rate
Home charging unit
Pod Point 7kW – yes, I would recommend this. It’s a very neat little charger and the app is easy to use.
