Surprise us! Tell us something surprising about this car?
The charge curve is really good. Only 50kW max but it manages near 50kW from a very low % and sustains it for a long time so can charge at over 40kW even at over 80% (checked by myself the other day showing 41 kW at 83% battery). It only really tails off <20kW at about 92-93%. Good tech for an old design.
What car are you interested in next and why?
i3S ha ha…I want another. A superb EV, still one to beat for performance and quality/design aesthetics if looking at smaller/city cars.
What home charging unit do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?
EO Mini Smart Home – good unit, discrete, would recommend. The app works but it is a very basic looking app which could do with a re-design. EO Pro might be better.
What home electricity supplier & tariff do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?
Octopus Go Faster tariff – great semi-flexible tariff for cheap off-peak rates, would recommend.
What public charging networks do you use? Would you recommend them to others and why?
- Instavolt – usually working (one issue with stopping a charge with the app on one occasion)
- Gridserve – some issues but in middle of massive rollout to upgrade motorway service areas
- BP pulse – seem unreliable, used to subscribe but cancelled recently.
Who do you insure your EV with? Would you recommend them to others and why?
BMW – surprised they were cheaper than others.
