MG ZS EV - Owner Review highlights

Why did you choose the MG ZS EV?

Excellent quality, comfort, safety and range at a sensible price.

MG ZS EV Exclusive 44.5kWh 2019, Richard

I had an ICE ZS and I was very pleased with that. I had been looking at getting an EV and so took the plunge and bought the ZS EV.

MG ZS Excite 2021, Richard

Very good car for the price and decent real-world range (WLTP 163 miles). Priced at well under £30k. Practical boot space and loads of room for passengers.

MG ZS EV Exclusive, John

  • No App

It’s quick!

Beats most ICE cars from a standing start.

MG ZS EV 2020, Mick

You won’t find a nicer car to drive for the price with this range and spec. Quiet, smooth, relaxing and effortless drive. Sounds so quiet it’s almost luxurious.

What home charging unit do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?

Hypervolt – it looks great, works well. There is a dedicated Facebook page for users and the CEO of the company is a member. Customer service is outstanding.

MG ZS Excite 2021, Richard

I have a zappi V2 as it didn’t need an earth rod and has a very useful app. Futureproofed as it works with solar panels. Would recommend zappi.

Rolec – does what it says on the label.

MG ZS EV 2020, Mick

What home electricity supplier & tariff do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?

Need to research as deals look good for unit cost of electricity but some suppliers insist on all utilities transferring and the gas price is higher, overall it can cost more to swap suppliers.

Octopus Go, would recommend.

What public charging networks do you use? Would you recommend them to others and why?

I have tried lots! I strongly recommend Gridserve (Electric Highway and forecourt) & Instavolt for ease of use and accessibility but have used BP pulse, Shell recharge & Osprey. GeniePoint are quite slow (max 20kW on a 50kW rapid) with the MG due to a compatibility issue which I know they are looking into.

IONITY, Electric Highway (both Ecotricity and the new one) GeniePoint and Instavolt.

MG ZS EV Exclusive, John

Pod Point Rapid at Lidl. Due to price per kWh being so reasonable. Yes to recommend.

Who do you insure your EV with? Would you recommend them to others and why?

Quotemehappy – low quote and good quick claims process when my last car got written off.

MG ZS EV Exclusive, John

LV – yes very good cover including cables, also offers multi-car as we have two EVs.

MG ZS EV Exclusive 44.5kWh 2019, Richard

John Lewis – I would recommend them because they realised they had overcharged me and sent me a refund.
