2026 Toyota C-HR+ Owner Review | First Thoughts & Range

Paul's 2026 Toyota C-HR+ Design 72kWh in the dealer showroom

2026 Toyota C-HR+ Design 72kWh Owner Review (Paul F.)

I have owned my 2026 Toyota C-HR+ for less than a year and have covered between 0 and 500 miles, so far. This is my very first electric vehicle, and I estimate my annual mileage will be under 5,000 miles. I chose the car primarily for its looks and the drive itself. I opted for the Design specification, which is brilliant; the car is so smooth, responsive, and quiet. It is simply the best car I have ever driven, having transitioned from petrol to diesel and now to full electric.

Real-World Range & Charging Experience

  • Average Range: I am achieving an average of 250 to 270 miles from an 80% charge

  • Battery Performance: The battery is performing very well.

I charge the car at home using an installed home charging unit. While it is easy to use, I do wish the unit itself was encased. My current electricity supplier is Octopus, and I use their 18-month single tariff. Because my home setup is sufficient, I do not use any public charging networks.

Switching to an EV is definitely saving me money; I currently save £60 to £70 a month compared to my previous running costs.

Driving Experience & Performance

What I love most about the C-HR+ is that it is cheap to run, features a long-range battery, and offers better driving and comfort than I had expected. I have experienced absolutely no issues or faults with the car since picking it up. In fact, I have not really found a downside to the vehicle because I am just very happy with it.

Interior, Infotainment & Practicality

  • Favourite Tech: The heated seats and steering wheel, the ability to preheat the car from my phone, the electric tailgate, and an infotainment screen that is quite easy to use

  • Best-Kept Secret: The sheer comfort of the drive

  • Insurance: I do not personally insure the vehicle.

Would I Buy It Again?

If I were to trade my keys in tomorrow, the vehicles at the top of my list to consider next would be the Kia EV3 and the Audi Q4.
