Toyota bZ4X 2024 electric car owner review

Dave Wade drives a Toyota bZ4X 71.4kWh 2024.

This is Dave’s first electric car, he’s owned the Toyota bZ4X from new and drives 5,000-10,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 0-500 miles and he achieves 280 miles from a full charge.

Why did you choose the Toyota bZ4X?

I am a big fan of Toyota and got a great deal from Burrows Toyota.

Positives

  • It is a nice looking vehicle and the specifications are great
  • it’s very roomy and is well-equipped
  • I like to think l am helping the environment
  • it’s cheaper to run.

Negatives

  • I haven’t found any negatives yet.

Compared to when you first bought the car, does your battery still charge at the same rate & do you still get the same range?

Not had it long enough to comment.

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

None found yet.

What are the standout technological features of the car?

  • The ability to set a time to charge it when it’s cheaper
  • the entertainment system is exceptional with Apple CarPlay, maps, etc.

Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about this electric car

Although there is no glove box there are plenty of deep pockets in the doors and the central console is very roomy.

What’s the biggest or funniest myth you’ve heard about EVs?

Manufacturers are stopping producing them and can’t sell them.

What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?

No preference at this time since it is my first EV.

Home charging unit

Easee One – it is easy to use and is very compact.

Electricity supplier & tariff

Octopus Go – unable to connect to Intelligent Octopus since it does not support my EV or charger.

Do you use public charging networks?

No

Please itemise where you’re saving money (or not) owning & running a Toyota bZ4X

Running costs are cheaper. I’ve only had the EV for two weeks so I’m unable to properly cost how much l will be saving yet.
