Tony drives a Kia EV3 Long Range 81.4kWh.
This is Tony’s first EV and he’s owned the Kia EV3 less than a year. He drives 10,000-15,000 miles annually and the current mileage of the car is between 10,000-15,000 miles. Tony achieves on average between 300-310 miles range from an 80% charge.
Why did you choose the Kia EV3?
It had excellent reviews. I need to drive up to 300 miles some days and it will comfortably do that on a 100% charge.
Positives
- Excellent performance
- frugal energy use
- handles well
- very comfortable and roomy
- amazing range.
Negatives
Very little. The On/Off & D,P & Reverse functions could be better located. Also, I find the lane keeping function irritating and switch it off.
Compared to when you first bought the car, does your battery still charge at the same rate & do you still get the same range?
Not so far!
Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?
No
What are the standout technological features of the car?
Excellent Sat Nav & hands-free phone.
Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about your Kia EV3
Being able to pre-heat the car and seat when cold. Also, amazing acceleration if required.
What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?
The same!
Electricity supplier & tariff
Octopus Energy – not their top tariff as the charger is not yet fully approved.
Insurance
Admiral – excellent cover, especially as I am 86.
Please itemise where you’re saving money (or not) owning & running a Kia EV3
Big time, as mileage costs are miniscule compared to my previous two mild hybrid petrol cars.
