BMW i4 2024, Steven

BMW i4 2022, Steven

Steven drives a BMW i4 M Sport 67.1kWh 2024.

This is Steven’s second EV and he’s owned the BMW i4 between 1-2 years. Steven drives 5,000-10,000 miles annually and the current mileage of the car is between 10,000-15,000 miles. He achieves, on average, 225 miles range from an 80% charge. Steven’s i4 has the full specification, except a sunroof and the £200 accident video recording system.

Why did you choose this car?

I love the performance & superior quality.

Positives

To be honest everything, the look, the performance, the technology.

Negatives

The voice assistant is OK, but largely rubbish. My next car will have sophisticated AI!

Compared to when you first bought the car, does your battery still charge at the same rate & do you still get the same range?

Just the same, excellent.

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

Only the air con. The second compressor has recently been installed as the first replacement failed after only a year.

What are the standout technological features of the car?

I love the auto drive, self-parking is amazing & the automatic laser lights are incredible!

Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about your BMW i4

Putting it into ‘D’ (driving mode) when self-drive is selected, adds more range. Other than that, I select ‘B’ for exceptional one pedal driving & strong power regeneration.

What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?

The new BMW i3 Neue Klasse!

What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?

  • GRIDSERVE
  • evyve
  • InstaVolt (most expensive).

Insurance

Aviva Zero – excellent value, I’ve stayed with them for 3 years as for me, they’ve beaten all other providers.

Please itemise where you’re saving money (or not) owning & running a BMW i4

Running cost are drastically lower. The only disadvantage is the government’s luxury car tax, that I totally disagree with.
