2023 Peugeot E-2008 GT 50kWh Owner Review

In this review, ‘My Peugeot EV Experience’ shares their journey with their very first EV: the Peugeot E-2008. Over the past few years, they’ve covered up to 20,000 miles—averaging between 5,000 and 10,000 miles annually—and report a reliable 180 miles of range on average, from an 80% battery. Beyond the standard spec, their E-2008 also benefits from heated seats, an upgraded entertainment setup and a panoramic (opening) roof.

Why did you choose the Peugeot E-2008?

It was available on the lot at the time we went to the dealer. I didn’t have to wait 6 months for a model to be built etc.

Positives 

• It’s really cost effective to run
• I charge overnight on a cheap tariff and we don’t have to worry about petrol being around £1.75 a litre.

Negatives 

The model we own had a defect and we weren’t told about it. The car just died and when we called to get it sorted out, we were then told about the defect. No calls out to current customers, no warnings. Really shoddy post-purchase service.

Compared to when you first bought the car, does your battery still charge at the same rate & do you still get the same range?

I think the range has lowered. A fully charged battery only gets about 230 miles and that’s if you use nothing – heated seats, A/C, heating, etc.

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

A major defect meant the car died and sat in Sainsbury’s car park for 2 days before someone was able to come and collect it. We then had a rental for about 2 months while they sorted the car out. Only when the car got back to the dealer were we told about the major defect that caused the issue. Will NEVER buy a Peugeot again.

What are the standout technological features of the car?

Android Auto is great and connecting to your phone is fantastic. The opening roof is nice in the summer.

Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about your Peugeot E-2008

I like the rear camera when you’re reversing. The number of times I’ve NOT hit something makes it a really impressive feature!

I can’t imagine how much money we’ve saved not having to deal with petrol!
