Peugeot E-3008 2024 electric car owner review

Simon M-B drives a Peugeot E-3008 GT 73kWh 2024.

This is Simon’s third electric car, he’s owned the Peugeot E-3008 from new and drives 10,000-15,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 500-1,000 miles and he achieves 280 miles from a full charge.

Why did you choose the Peugeot E-3008?

After owning an E-2008 GT it was great to find a bigger car, feeling more premium and with longer range.

Positives

  • Driving position
  • colour in titane grey
  • ride.

Negatives

  • Flimsy sunglasses holder
  • lack of heat pump as standard (it was standard on my E-2008 GT)
  • weak power on phone charge pad.

Compared to when you first bought the car, does your battery still charge at the same rate & do you still get the same range?

Battery charge times and range are good. Although max. charge speed is quoted at 160kW but typically the max. is often 70kW.

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

Not experienced any problems yet but the service from my local dealership, Snows in Basingstoke, is always first-rate.

What are the standout technological features of the car?

The adaptive cruise control is very easy to use, the powered tailgate works well even when foot waving to open it when your hands are full.

Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about this electric car

The built-in GPS works really well with voice commands and often brings up a surprising amount of additional information.

What’s the biggest or funniest myth you’ve heard about EVs?

I’m always amazed when people ask me, “have I got used to driving an EV?” It really isn’t that different.

What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?

Always interested in cars with longer ranges, including the 93kWh E-3008.

Do you charge your electric car from home?

No

Do you use public charging networks?

Yes

What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?

There are lots of MER charging points in and around my home town of Basingstoke and I always have a good experience with InstaVolt chargers too when on long journeys.

Insurer

The car is insured with a multi-car policy through Admiral.

Please itemise where you’re saving money (or not) owning & running a Peugeot E-3008

Public charging does make the saving less than those who can charge at home.
